The Sch\u00e4flein Group is expanding its product range in the field of express shipments: With the Sch\u00e4flein premium service “Europa Express”, the service provider now also offers groupage transport solutions for particularly time-critical general cargo shipments to other European countries. The service will be launched on 13 January 2020 for eight countries and will be successively expanded over the course of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the Europa Express premium service, customers can choose between prioritised delivery within a guaranteed delivery time (Priority) or guaranteed delivery on the following day (NextDay). “With our offer, we are meeting the increased service and shipping requirements of our customers. Retailers in particular can pass on the flexible choice of shipping option directly to their customers. The latter can decide for themselves how urgently they need a product,” says Dominik D\u00f6rflein, Head of International Forwarding at Sch\u00e4flein. Transparent price tables with fixed transport costs enable quick and uncomplicated booking. A high-performance IT system ensures end-to-end shipment tracking from pick-up at the customer’s premises to delivery.<\/p>\n

Alternative to the special trip<\/h3>\n

The NextDay service in Europa Express represents a cost-effective and resource-saving alternative to traditional courier and special transport. Sch\u00e4flein has strategically expanded its existing transport and partner network for regular transport to handle express shipments. The service can compete with courier services in terms of time, while at the same time the use of the existing infrastructure results in synergy effects that are reflected in reduced transport costs and CO2 savings compared to traditional special deliveries. “Not every urgent transport that is booked as a special delivery today really requires this service. Delivery on the following day is often sufficient, but the right option is simply not available – we want to close this gap,” says D\u00f6rflein. With this service, the service provider is expanding its product portfolio in international groupage transport and thus offering its customers a wide range of transport options from a single source.<\/p>\n

Europe-wide general cargo transport<\/h3>\n

As an introduction, Sch\u00e4flein is offering a premium service for particularly urgent shipments to the neighbouring countries of France, the Czech Republic and Austria, as well as to Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia. Over the course of the year, the service will be extended to other European countries and will also be available in procurement logistics.<\/p>\n
