Schäflein Takes New Paths: Hydrogen Truck Rolls into real-world operation

The future of logistics is created where companies take bold steps together. Schäflein is once again proving this by bringing a hydrogen-powered, fuel-cell electric 40‑ton truck into real-world operation for the first time—serving a dedicated route for a long-standing industrial partner.

Operated by Schäflein, the modern hydrogen truck enables climate‑friendly transport in daily plant logistics. The vehicle offers a range of up to 800 kilometers and will cover around 12,000 kilometers per year. Its advanced fuel cell system enables locally emission-free operation.

Together with our industrial partner, we use this new solution not only to reduce CO₂ emissions but also to collect valuable real‑world data—a crucial contribution to the further development of next‑generation drive technologies. This allows us to actively support sustainable value creation and regional initiatives aimed at expanding hydrogen-based logistics.
